Jaipur. In continuation of series of events to celebrate the International Women’s Day, Department of English, UEM today organised Jingle Convention, a poetry recitation event by eminent poets and authors on the theme ‘ Women as Foundation of Value Based Society’. Many Award winning poets and authors namely Ms Pankhuri Sinha (Bihar), Ms Mili Das (West Bengal), Dr Shalini Yadav (Rajasthan), and Dr Firoz Khan (Rajasthan) were present to mark the event. The event was chaired by Prof. (Dr) Rajul Bhargava, Former Professor, University of Rajasthan. The poets and educationists hailing from different parts of India made a scathing attack on the society for its falling ethical benchmarks, venting their ire over rising crime against women, her status in society, the rising threat of AI [artificial intelligence] and war etc. The emphasis was on creating positive literature.
Throughout the session, students, participants and listeners together enjoyed powerful, inspirational, and passionate poems on the themes of Women, love, life, death and migration. Many poems reflected the role of women in building the strong foundation of value based society and women related issues. It was clear from the session that poetry touches the hearts of everyone, transcending language barriers and bringing us together. The whole event was full of sensibility and sensitivity towards humanity and Poetry, making the event a gala success.
The master of ceremonies, Ms Shreya Pareek (BBA II Year) and Ms Vandana Sharma (BCA I Year) were appreciated for being wonderful anchors. The entire event was together coordinated by the members of Department of English, Dhanika (Women Cell) and The Speech Society.
